Foreign Languages Centre APPLE offers an exciting trip into the world of the English, German, French, Spanish, Italian languages. In our educational centre you will not only get professional tuition in grammar, vocabulary and phonetics, but also pick up a lot of interesting and useful facts about culture, customs and traditions of the people who speak these languages. It has become a tradition of ours to celebrate the national holidays of the countries with traditional dishes, contests, games and presents.
As well as lexico-grammatical language structures we are also focused on practising most frequently used speech patterns. Our qualified tutors, mostly University professors who gained their education abroad, will be your supervisors and assistants in the exciting process of mastering language structures, vocabulary building, speaking and listening comprehension skills development and international exams revision.
We give classes in mini-groups and individually in a cosy, friendly atmosphere that encourages free communication. Gaming methods, dialogues, rhymes and songs, DVD movies are widely used in the lessons as dialogue activators. For quick, effective memorisation we also introduce video-audio-information technologies.
Using our Centre as a base you can revise for International Exams including: TOEFL, IELTS, FCE, CAE, CPE. We also provide you with the opportunity to study for the following (specialised) streams: English in Medicine, English in Law, English in Tourism, English in Economics, IT English etc.
Some peculiarities in teaching foreign languages for pre-schoolers (from the age of 4).
The peculiarities of pre-school foreign language tuition are:
-initial acquaintance with the language structure on an elementary level;
-lexico-grammatical patterns consolidation with the use of gaming teaching methods;
-watching cartoons in a language;
-listening to special educatory audio-materials for children;
-learning rhymes and songs in a foreign language.
While teaching children we pay much attention to memory development as well as motor skills improvement.
The traditional system of evaluation is substituted by prizes for the children who do well during the lesson. At the end of the term we give open lessons in the form of contests where both children and parents take part.
The classes are held three times a week for 60 minutes from September till May.
Some peculiarities in teaching foreign languages for schoolchildren.
In our Centre we have developed a new socially-oriented,education program for schoolchildren at a reduced price.
The main goal of the education program is building and active development of sustainable language skills. To achieve this goal we use the most efficient modern methods of teaching, including:
- imprinting memorization and gaming methods in lexico-grammatical area;
-frequent testing in different areas;
-holding discussions on the topics that arouse intense children`s interest;
- engaging in creative work;
-introducing audio-video-computer facilities;
-practising commonly-used colloquial patterns in dialogues and role-games;
- practicing interesting pieces of the foreign country’s cultural heritage, etc.
At the end of the term we give open lessons in the form of exciting contests where both children and parents take part.
We also follow the traditions of national festivities and celebrate them with traditional food, costumes and gifts. It usually provokes a vivid interest among schoolchildren in the customs of the foreign country.
The classes are held three times a week for two academic hours from September till May, in groups or individually.
Some peculiarities in foreign languages teaching for adults.
While teaching adults we take into account three main aspects:
- increase vocabulary base and understanding;
- practice of grammar patterns;
- development of listening comprehension skills.
During the lesson all students are encouraged to express themselves freely. Reading original texts; revising commonly-used speech patterns in dialogues, monologues and role-plays; holding discussions on the most controversial topics; studying the best pieces of the foreign country’s cultural heritage; watching movies; singing popular songs – all these contribute to mastering the foreign language and having a lot of fun.
The students are evaluated by various tests: positioning testing, in-between testing, final testing. According to the testing results students are given graduation Certificates.
